The series music was composed entirely by Ron Ramin. For Christy, Ramin received an EMMY Nomination: Outstanding Original Score for a Series. In time, hopefully we’ll be able to listen to his isolated version of the TV score.

Christy needed an enchanting song to entice everyone to watch it. The reoccurring song for the numerous Christy TV commercials was used in the background. You can hear several examples of this on the Promos page. To be clear, the song was not used for the episodes nor composed by Ron Ramin. I was curious as to what song was used. So as AI and other technology continues to arise I used the website aha-music.com to find it. The song “Big Sky” by Ian Hughes was featured in the album “Global View”. It is a compilation album released on October 3rd, 1988. That seems like a long time before the series aired. But time does fly by and it was less than 6 years before the premiere. I imagine CBS chose this song for the least amount of music royalties they’d have to pay out. It’s an orchestral track that has a moving yet heartwarming quality to the piece. It’s the perfect song to promote the perfect TV series.

You can listen to the song used for the commercials on Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube.
